This summer the GEDI are pleased to once again offer a debate camp. Hosted by the College of Southern Idaho, this experience is designed to be an affordable for novice- and junior-level competitors. The 5-day camp will benefit students from all forms of debate including policy, Lincoln-Douglas, public forum, student congress, and panel discussion.
The purpose of this camp is to help students learn techniques and ethics for debate in an encouraging, safe environment. College professors provide lectures, and college debaters lead our labs which have a ratio of 6:1. Each morning will include lectures, and labs will take up our afternoons. There are also activities and excursions planned for the evenings.
In addition, for the entire forensics community, the GEDI will be offering a one-day seminar on Saturday, August 3, 2019. Students, teachers, administrators, and judges are all welcome to attend. There will be sessions on a broad spectrum of speech and debate topics.
There are two options for attending the camp, resident and commuter. The resident option is $450 and includes tuition, room, board, supplies, official polo shirt, application fee, and seminar. The commuter option is $270 includes everything except room, and only lunch. If you are interested in attending, please click the sign up button below.
To attend the seminar only, the cost is $20 and includes morning coffee and lunch. There will be four sessions available and we plan to offer multiple options for each. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to indicate your interest as well as if you wish to present.
