English 101 emphasizes the process and strategies of writing with critical attention to purpose, audience, and style. Students will write thoughtful essays based on readings, observations, and ideas; develop the writer’s inventiveness and voice; and edit for style and conventions of standard usage. This course requires a documented essay. Students will produce a portfolio of collected works.
