A systematic treatment of chemical principles and their
application. Topics include nomenclature, periodicity,
reactions, equations, stoichiometry, solutions, gases, and
introduction to the theories of the atom, equilibria, acid-bases,
redox, and radioactivity. This course is suggested for
students who have not taken high school chemistry. CHEM
190 is recommended to be taken concurrently as a review of
