This course presents a systematic treatment of chemical principles and their application. Topics include nomenclature, periodicity, reactions, equations, stoichiometry, solutions, gases, and introduction to the theories of the atom, equilibria, acid-bases, redox, and radioactivity. Prerequisite: Math 108 or placement test score into Math 143. Corequisite: Chem 101L.
