Herrett Forum Speaker Series presents Community Arts with Autumn Kersey 3/19/2014
Time: 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Southern Idaho’s quality of living is often measured by cost of living, available employment, the quality of schools and services, and recreational opportunities. Just as important, says Autumn Kersey, are community arts.

Kersey is an actress, director, producer, teaching artist, and the founder of the Treasure Valley’s first children’s and youth theater companies. Appropriately so, considering her long involvement in programs such as JuMP Company and Dilettantes of Magic Valley as she grew up in Twin Falls. Kersey will be the speaker at the Herrett Forum at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 at the Herrett Center’s Rick Allen Room. Her topic, ‘Community Arts: Influence and Impact,’ will examine the important of improving access and support for performing arts programs that provide opportunities to ‘shape healthy, active, intelligent, empathetic, and understanding members of the community.’

The Herrett Forum is a monthly series of presentations generally held the third Wednesday evening of each month during the school year. Topics are coordinated by the Herrett Forum Committee, a group of community individuals dedicated to bringing high quality presentations to Twin Falls. No tickets are required for this free public lecture. Doors open at 7 p.m. The Herrett Center for Arts and Science is located on the north side of the College of Southern Idaho campus at the North College Road entrance.
